Members of the BARS volunteer combat unit help him extinguish fires caused by shelling. His only constant companion is the Gospel. His reflections on life, eternity, and peace are deeply personal, shaped by years of hardship. A person who carries peace within can create an island of peace even amid the inferno of war.
